Detox Update
A lot of you have asked me what I am actually eating each day and if I would post it. Well, I just completed day two and nearly lost all self-control today at the self-serve yogurt shop. I took all my power not to get a big ass cup of chocolate and vanilla swirl and self-serve the sh** out of peanut butter cups and Butterfingers. I’m still a bit mad that I didn’t.
Overall, it is going well. I only lost it once while studying the inner ear with my son and he couldn’t remember the definition of VOLUME after the 4th time. I kindly demonstrated it by raising my voice and yelling, “LOUD OR SOFT FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!” I don’t think he or Christ appreciated it.
Day One
Lemon water
7:00 am Banana and tea
9:30 am Steal cut oatmeal
Noon Arugula salad with beets, walnuts, red onions, brown rice, and cranberries (above)
2:00 Peachy Green Smoothie (recipe)
4:00 Humus and red peppers
6:00 Bowl of Lentil Soup (recipe) and 1/2 avocado with sea salt
Lots of detox tea and water throughout!
Day Two
Lemon water
7:00 am Banana and tea
11:00 am Lentil Soup and arugula salad with avocado, onion and sliced almonds
2:00 Dr. Junger’s Cucumber, Basil, Lime juice (recipe)
4:00 Brown rice with sautéed spinach
6:00 Arugula with Mexican Bean Salad (recipe)
Again, lots of water and detox tea.
I’m posting the recipes for the lentil soup and bean salad because they are so good, can keeps for days, and are vegan. I feel like I’m turning into Betty Crocker…
