HOLY COW! (and lamb)
What is this?
It’s just my latest purchase (or over purchase). Apparently Dalai Mama forgot how big farm animals are and bought herself enough natural, grass fed beef and lamb to take us to the next presidential election. Here I am, touting the benefits of eating more vegetables, and I have us locked into carniverous consumption for at least 2 years…
I nearly wet my pants when I saw the Costco sized flatbed cart carrying my 1/2 cow and lamb from the deep freezer of Bichelmeyer Butcher. Where in God name am I going to fit this? I counted 85 packages of ground beef alone. No, I am not shi*ing you. And then there are the other cuts of meat, most of which I don’t recognize. Did you know Pikes Peak isn’t just a mountain?
Those of you who have been following me know I have a mild obsession with hormone-free natural meat. I’ve already written about it here and gave links to help you find natural meat. You can also contact Bichelmeyers, who have their own hormone -free meats, and A Cut Above, who operate an all natural butcher shop in Shawnee, KS.
But, seeing as I have enough inventory to open my own meat shop, I can probably strike a deal with you.
Do you think free range sirloin steaks on dry ice make a good hostess gift? The holidays are coming up…
