Giveaway Day 5! Coconut Manna
Congratulations Lisa! Lisa won my favorite all natural face wash and lotion, made here in good ole Kansas City. I’m so excited for you to try it because I know you’ll love it!
It has been so fun featuring my favorite things and giving you all a chance to try them. I also have loved showing off some outstanding Kansas City success stories. But, most of all, your comments have made my day! I feel like I have gotten to know you all better and have also learned some new things along the way. THANK YOU for participating and opening up to me (and the world). It has been so fun!
Today Win My Favorite Staple Food: Coconut Manna
You always have a jar of peanut butter in your cupboard…well, I always have a jar of coconut butter right next to it. That is essential what it is: coconut butter. Nutiva takes organic coconuts, roasts them, and grinds them up. That’s pretty much exactly how you make any nut butter.
It separates just like nut butter, the coconut “meat” on the bottom and coconut oil on top:
Just stir it up and spread it on toast. Put a dollop on hot cereal. Throw a tablespoon over brown rice and mix in. Eat a spoonful right out of the jar. Eat the whole jar.
I’m flipping OBSESSED with this stuff!
Alright, guys, this is the LAST giveaway and the LAST chance to answer one of my questions!
To enter, all you need to do is tell me:
“What is your favorite staple food?”
(and it doesn’t need to be healthy, you can be honest. I’ll still like you. I just ate 4 mini macarons, for Pete’s sake)
Good luck and Happy Easter!!!
And one more thing…I LOVE YOU GUYS! You all are so amazing.

There are a lot of things that always make it into my grocery cart each week – spinach, black beans, bananas, etc. But my favorite staple has to be hazelnut coffee mate. I know, awful! I buy it in bulk so that I always have at least a few in the outside fridge because there is nothing more annoying than a late night run to the store because we need coffee mate for the morning.
oh man!!!!!!!!!!! i always have beans on hand……..black especially/pinto/kidney/garbanzo/northern/you name it. Interestingly enough, most men i have dated HATE beans!! so odd. i love them and if you want you can sing BEANS BEANS THE AMERICAN FRUIT, etc……………………………
This really cracked me up….you are going to have to find a man that loves ALL of you :)
CONGRATULATIONS! You are the winner of this yummy coconut butter! You are going to have to promise me that you will tell me what you think after you try it!!!
Grapes. Okay, wine.
Hummus!!!!
Oh, yes, me too! Always around.
Clearly since I couldn’t complete that last cleanse…mine would be coffee and red wine. Hey that red wine is heart healthy! Thanks to you, I am trying all these great products!
Hey, those are my downfalls too! I was off coffee for a while and now I’m back on it. Just a cup a day, but I know it still isn’t good for me!
Eggs because they are quick, and almond butter for the same reason- a spoon full with a banana is an easy breakfast.
‘Tis the season for eggs, isn’t it? I have a dozen hard boiled in the fridge right now from Easter! Awesome snack!
My staple foods lately have been natural peanut butter and honey. I mix them with everything, it seems! But I would absolutely love to try coconut manna. I have never heard of it before reading your post!
I wish I liked honey. I’ve never really loved it and I so want to! For sure check out your store an see if they carry coconut butter – I’m sure there are other brands out there. If you can’t find it, it is SO easy to make! Here is where I learned to make it: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/01/26/make-your-own-coconut-butter/
