Vacation Constipation
(Originally posted August, 2010)
Ok, let’s get right the the heart of most people’s traveling woes: constipation. It’s inevitable and can really weigh you down. Vacations usually mean less exercise, a change in diet, an altered routine, and probably the scariest thing for our colon: an unfamiliar toilet.
One of the best cures for vacation constipation is tea. Not just any tea, but Traditional Medicinals® Organic Smooth Move. Laugh all you want, but this stuff rocks. I don’t go on any vacation without packing a few tea bags. Just brew a cup right before you sleep and the next morning you are good as gold.

Depending on your system, it can take anywhere from 8-12 hours to take effect, so don’t test this product right before a 2 hour morning hike.
And, no people, I have not lost my mind. This is the kind of stuff you need to know that only your mother and the Dalai Lina will tell you about…

Oh Lina, I love you! Thank you for sharing. I started taking benefiber daily when I was pregnant because I had trouble and was freaked out by the possibility of hemoroids. God we are old – I dont remember even thinking about poop back when we were young!
Well, I know your delicate system and do not recommend trying this unless you have a day to sit by the toilet. For you, it would probably work in 3 hours…
OMG Lina, I can’t believe the stuff you talk about. You crack me up. I love it. Funny you should mention this, I’m going on a girls weekend and the thought crossed my mind…I hate it when I get backed up. I will def try the tea. Thanks
Try it sometime before you go, when the next morning your are just chillin so you can get a sense of how long it takes to “work” on you…then you can calculate the number of hours and time it perfectly! Have fun!
This is the second time in 2 weeks I have heard about this stuff — in two completely different scenarios! Must be the universe telling me something.
Lina, I have to say, it cracks me up that this is your FB status. You never fail to make me giggle. xo
We swear by all their products. My son uses Throat Coat when he’s on the road and needs to sing several days in a row. Their cold treatment tea also works wonders!
Agree! I have a cabinet full of them!
Lina – I have to tell you your blog has been the highlight of my summer!! You make me laugh out loud!!! I love how you just lay it all out there. Safe travels…..:)
Thank you :) See you in 3 weeks! Can you believe school is so soon?
while my issues were surgery and narcotic related (try codine every four hours for two weeks, yikes!), not travel, nothing else was working so I tried the tea. I did work better than any of the pills! Thanks!
I am so pleased it worked for you!
